Watered Down Motives and Realistic Finality (confessions of a sub-par artist)

lil_spark Published in confessionalart by sajji | Comment (2)

My mind has left me

                                                                                    blank

As the canvas that sits idle, questioning, before me

Its nonexistant values and colors usher me into oceans of thought that pull at my thinning conscience

Because my fantasies are not water soluble

And is it not the conception, or the act of painting which is really the majesty of creation?

In this carnal race against your clock, my time limit, his arms are looking enticing...

I have you matted, locked into finality and unquestioning adoration.

I have you framed and signed and I've sealed the deal as a successful lover and art conquest

But what if...

Okay, so earlier, I posted a bunch of videos at once. but I don't think that's gonna go over well with internet readers, so here's just one I really liked. Hopefully I'll end up doing this kinda regularly. Hope you enjoy.

Camille

matt/matt Published in poetryart by matthew klassen | Comment (3)

this poem was an attempt to write outside my box in order to get paid. it's titled after a mistress of claude monet's and based off these three portraits of her. i was neither published nor paid. i don't even know if it's any good, so i'd be interested in your thoughts.

I made this last night, and I'm not really sure what to title it.  Any ideas?

Something Boring

Miriam Published in arta challenge by Miriam | Comment (3)

In case you can't see it (and I can't, as I'm writing this post), my 'boring' homework is a Boring White Square.  Highlight the post, you'll see that there's actually an image there, not just white space.  (Well, it's an image of white space.)

Although it occurs to me now that something even more boring than a blank white square (well, square-ish.  I didn't actually specify the dimensions, I just cropped it to look approximately squareish), is to not post at all.

But instead, you get a blank white rectangle that's close to a square. ;)

Another Haiku

Miriam Published in poetryComicsblogart by Miriam | Comment (2)
Dreaming Pretty Dreams, Floating As High As A Bird, Dreaming, Dreaming, Sleep.

I should note that I'm not all that enamored with Haikus.  The Mathematician in me finds them interesting from a construction point of view, but creatively, I'm not all that much of a fan.  They're alright, but they're not really my thing.

This Haiku, however, was the first I ever wrote... in 3rd grade, when I first learned about haikus.  And tonight, wanting to go to bed before 4am (which might actually happen), I figured I'd  say something about sleep.

Time to play tourist

Miriam Published in Learning and GrowingideaComicsblogart by Miriam | Comment (0)

I've lived in Arizona all my life, and there are places here that I've never seen.  The Grand Canyon, for instance.  Also, the AZ Renaissance Faire, despite having several friends who are in it.  I've decided that this year, I'm not going to put off going places  anymore that I've always told myself that I could see another time.  I'm going to appreciate this state and all it has to offer.  Heck, maybe I'll even hike 'A' Mountain.

(Also, that picture took entirely too long to make.)
